A key feature of the development is the preservation and restoration of the Regency Cottages, which add character and charm to the scheme, connecting the new buildings to the site’s historical context. Landscaped communal spaces and terraces enhance the sense of community while providing residents with access to outdoor areas.

The new-build structures feature reinforced concrete frames and efficient floorplates to provide open, adaptable residential and commercial spaces, while accommodating large glazed areas and industrial-style façades.

The restoration of the Regency Cottages required close collaboration with English Heritage and the local conservation officer to preserve their historical integrity. Structural interventions included stabilising the existing masonry, repairing original timber elements, and incorporating discreet modern reinforcements to meet contemporary building standards without compromising the cottages' heritage character.
